The main purpose is to form students’ modern knowledge about the structure and functions of the immune system, types of immunity; distinctive characteristics of immune reactions under normal or pathological conditions; methods of clinical, laboratory and instrumental diagnostics, traditional and innovative directions in prevention, treatment of patients with immunopathology.
The course of medical microbiology and virology provides an up-to-date information on microbial diseases and laboratory methods of diagnosis which are emerging as an important health problem world wide.
The course consists of two sections.
The first section includes general microbiology.
The second section deals with bacteriology, virology, and mycology, respectively.
